Information Literacy Assessment Application

This information literacy assessment instrument was developed as part of the NILRC IMLS National Leadership Grant, "Information Literacy for the 21st-Century Learner: Preparing Students to Learn for Life.” The assessment instrument is available for instructors to use to help identify student skill and knowledge in information literacy.

For each test (pre-, post-, needs, etc.) you need to create a separate login. If you plan to administer it to more than one class or section, you’ll need to decide whether you want to combine the classes into one data set or keep them separate. If you want the data separated by class or section, you must create separate logins.

You may complete the assessment application at any time prior to administering the instrument.

Plan to allow 45 minutes for the students to complete the test. In our project groups, the students completed the assessment in an average of 26 minutes.
