In our challenging budget times, many of us have had to go through restructuring or a realignment of duties due to hiring freezes or a reduction in force. What impact has this made on our organizations? Do we have the right people doing the right jobs? How do we continue to make strategic advancements with fewer people to do the work? What can we learn from one another regarding how staff function across our institutions?
Before and during this hands-on workshop for deans, directors, and supervisors, you will work on mapping library tasks that need to be accomplished to meet strategic priorities, specific job functions, and essential library processes. The day will also include time to learn about job description best practices from the Director of Human Resources at IVCC and an activity centered on strategic priorities. To make the day as productive as possible, please plan on bringing the following items
